I don't know what to do
My children were taken away from me in 07 due to me trying to attempt suicide because of depression. Ive been back and forth to court & classes, therapy, patenting etc. My children's grandmother got custody of them recently & doesn't allow me to speak to them at all. Its been almost a year sense I've seen them. My parental rights have been taken and I don't know what to do.

Usually the court or law forces want to see a meaningfull change in you before they grant you any rights watsoever ,due to this people attend conferences or classes that teach you about life and deppression just like there is classes for alcoholics (didnt spelled it right <--) hope this help you at least gave you some ideas

The court should have specified your visitation rights and the process for applying to get them back. What exactly does the court order say? And what happened between 07 and a year ago - who had the children, and why didn't you get them back during all those years? It sounds like we are missing some important information.

I'm very sorry this is happening to you. It's a Catch 22 when you are depressed and can't see your children. But if you weren't able to follow court ordered programs, or if you lapsed back into suicide attempts, then a relative having custody might be the only good option. With visitation!
