I applied for a line of Credit which was approved as long as I sign an affidavit stating the 6 liens against the property, showed up in a title search, are not mine but of a similar name as mine. Similar names show different addresses. This affidavit is all fine a good for a line of credit.. .BUTT

How do I go about having these liens removed from the title as I want to sell this property in a few months.:confused:

Whether you need to have them removed depends on the customary real estate practice in your state. Some states require that each lien must be removed but other states only require an affidavit that they are against people with the same or similar names and not against you.

Contact a real estate attorney or title insurance agency in your area and they can tell you what will be necessary when you sell the property.
