Kenmore UltraSoft280 softenertank Filled with Water
I have a 7-year old softener and woke up today with a garage full of water. After troubleshooting, I found the venturi cap was broken, spraying water all over the place during the evening recharge cycle. Hopefully, I can replace the cap and everything else will work. Problem is that the reservoir tank is filled to the overflow with water and I have no idea how to drain it other than tip the softener over. So, two questions: could the broken cap have created the amount of water in tank; and how can I remove water without tipping tank over. In other words, is there some cycle I can initiate to drain it with the bypass valve engaged.
