It's a kind of long story I came home from work one day and the plumber was working in the bathroom he ripped out the wall where the bathtub facets were and said I need to call the land lord I did and the lord told me that he has to do some major work and he does not know how long its going to take He did not give any kind of notice and this is around the time my lease is up. I told his worker I did not like this at all The land lord called me back and said to make things better he would give me a one bed room re-done for $100 less which sound too good to be true. My question is this How can I make sure that he will stick this agreement and how do I protect myself in case he pulls some kind of funny &^$$#@$^&*

Get it all in writing!
He's promising you a different apartment, or this one when it's renovated?
He should not have started work while you were still there, and not without notice. Entering without notice is for emergencies only.

Check your current lease (assuming you have one). It should state that prior notice is required except for emergencies. Now this could have been an emergency.

In any case, if he offers you another apartment get a new lease signed. That is your protection.
