I don't know what is causing this. Is it possible to see a doctor and let him figure it out? You very possibly need strong antibiotics. I feel bad that you have suffered with this for so long!

You may have bacterial infection, which you can get from using tampons, certain soaps, douche, feminine products, taking baths not showers because the dirt from your body washes into your vagina, oh and even condoms. I have this problem often don't know how when I avoid all the things my Dr tells me. But you will need antibiotic for the problem to disappear.

You must get over your fear and see a doctor! You've had this infection for many years, and it might be doing much harm inside you. The antibiotic is by prescription only.

No, you cannot buy the antibiotic at a chemist. You MUST go to a doctor to find out why this is not healing with all the OTC meds you have been using. It may be a deep infection.

Nothing over the counter will work at all. Metronidazole or clindamycin. This isn't an STD. Drs really don't know the actual cause for this infection. Ask whom ever you see for healthcare. If they can't do it. You must see a Dr. I'm sure after you bathe about 20 minutes later it back. I don't know how you've lived with this for so long. Hopefully this helps.

Oh and also this isn't a yeast infection, it may help for a few days, then its back. Don't waste your time or money. I suggest getting over your fear, because this may have turned into PID. You stated you didn't have children, this could hurt you in the long run if not treated ASAP. Hopefully its not too late. Good luck.
