    US-Indo Tax Treaty Exemptions
    Hello TaxExperts,

I am working in OK, US on H1. It's the tax time of the year, and I would like to get maximum returns.

Are there any exemptions under the US -Indo tax treaty that are beneficial to a person in my place? Under what "section" will such an exemption be available? I have been using TurboTax online software for past 2 years for doing my tax returns.

    Thanks.

If you are filing as a resident alien, then NO treaty provisions will apply to you.

    Sorry!

Is H1 visa for resident alien?
I thought that it was issued to non-resident aliens under 'temporary worker visa'.
Just my thoughts, I am not an expert.
