    Sibling abuse
I need to help my brothers and sisters but I don't know what steps to take.
My siblings are being raised in an abusive home where they are denied their most basic needs (love, food, education etc.) the problem is there are six of them and I do not want them separated, I am ready and willing to provide for them I just do not know how to start the process, please help every before it's to late.

To make a real long-term difference, you have to get the law involved. Talk to Child Protective Services, or whatever the equivalent authority is where you live.

Yes they will be better off apart and safe, than together and in a bad situation. For good or bad this is what Cps does. Just call and tell them you want to speak to a social worker. At least you will get an idea of your position.

TALK TO CHILD Protective services and get THEM OUT OF THERE. If in fact they must be separated it will be better in the long run that being under the influnce of an abusive parent. You can do this and hopefully one day be able to provide for them yourself. If you do not take action you will regret this for the rest of your life. Every child needs security and love and getting them out of that house may offer them a chance to have those things.

Child protective services are not the only answer. Talk to the kids school, teachers, neighbors... let eveyone know you can be contacted about the kids. Talk to the kids about letting adults they trust know they are not being care for/are being hurt. Talk to the local police. Once they are aware of a problem/potential problem they will keep an eye out. Also, keep talking to anyone involved with the children. Neglect is harder to prove than abuse but no less damaging. Your taking the right steps. Don't give up or stop talking to people about this until the kids are safe. Keep calling, checking progress, lighting fires so to speak. Good luck. Cathy

Talk to a teacher at school, call a police officer, tell a minister at church, or call child protectite services We all have a obligation when we know something like this is going on.

Absolutely talk to child protective services. Do you trust any relatives? It may be helpful to get them involved as well. Are your parents aware that they are not giving your siblings what they need (you would be surprised at how many parents don't know how to parent)? Whatever it is, definitely do something. Good luck.

How old are you? How old are they? You can go down to the Police Department and prob. Just put in a request for custody of them. You will go to court and all. If you go right to Child Services (BAD IDEA IF YOU WANT THEM) they may go take the children and put them in different foster homes and then believe me it is harder to get them back.

Do you have the room and money to support them? Are you married? Can you pay for child care? All these things will be looked at. Email me if you want to talk, I know a lot about this but in VA. Depends on where you are!
