    Renters rights California no lease
I have a month to month with roommate who is leasing a condo. No written agreement. I paid a security deposit and am still paid up for two more weeks.
Two days ago we had a blowout and she called police and had me arrested. She has said I can't get my property which include money, my HIV meds and other meds, computer (how I make my living) and because she has no phone she took my and used up the minutes. She won't allow me to get that either. She can't drive due to an DUI. I really need help.

Get the police who arrested you to accompany you back to pick up your stuff. If you are sub-renting from the roommate, she should know that she may very well be liable to you for illegal ouster by (your) landlord (your roommate).

On the other hand, California does allow non-judicial ejectment in certain circumstances (boarding houses, etc.), so your best bet is to get the police to help.

So you are HER tenant and she is leasing from the condo owner. After the arrest was a restraining order issued? If not, she has no right to keep you from your belongings.

Your best is, as advised, to get the police to accompany you to the apartment to get your things.
