    I am a unmarried father who girlfriend took off to Arizona with my 7 year old son I am in fla. I am on the birth cert. she took pills and went to a mental hospital while I was in jail for 8 weeks for a dui my first and last I was parked at my house but that's the way it happens here in fla keys in ig your done. My mom took care of my son for the entire time 3 days before I got out my girlfriend move w her gma and tool my son I seen him 3x now she took off with him and want give me an address or phone # to reach him can I get my son

    Did you have any court orders for custody and visitation? If not you and she had equal rights and there was nothing stopping her from moving.

    However, you can file in FL for custody and visitation. You need to do this before she establishes residence in AZ. If you can prove you have been an active participant in your son's life then you should win some level of custody and visitation. You might even get primary since she's hiding the child from you.

    Once a court awards you any level of custody and visitation, then you may be able to prosecute her for parental abduction if she refuses to abide by the court orders.

    Technically, before the son's home state becomes Arizona. That would be six months after she first took him there.
