Teen need certain license/permit to start business via website & word-of-mouth?
I'm a teenager with extensive babysitting experience and good Internet skills. I want to start a business planning parties for kids. (Their parents would be the ones hiring me.) I'd be using a website as my 'main base' (in other words, I won't have an office address or phone). My only mode of promotion/advertising will be word-of-mouth. I know of several teenagers who have started babysitting businesses this way without problems.

I won't have any co-workers or employees; it's just me and the clients. The website I want to make will be run through a free website service.

Should I look into a certain permit or license before starting my party-planning business, or can I just launch the website and start spreading the word?

Also, should I be concerned with taxes? I mean, kids who mow people's lawns in their neighborhood or babysit don't pay taxes, and this won't be much different than that.

Depends on where you live, in most of the US you would need a business license. Also your parents need perhaps liability insurance in case a child gets hurt at a party you plan.
