In lousiana can I file for child support in my child was not born here
If support has never been filed for, then you file where the child legally resides.
Or where the obligee can be found.
Where the child was born is not a issue. The issue is if there is already a order, you may have to do it there, ( there are many laws on that) or if not found, once you establish residency in the state where you are living with the child, it can be filed there.
