YOU don't get tested. You already know you're the mother. The baby and the alleged father do AFTER the baby is born.

You file for child support and the Court orders (and recognizes) the resting. Courts do not recognize over the counter tests.

No doctor will perform a test until after the child is born.

It's called DNA - it's a swab saliva test, non invasive, not painful at all.

You wait until the baby is born - you cannot test before then. At one time DNA tests could be done via a needle though your abdomen but it's a dangerous procedure.

You won't know the ID of the father until after the baby is born.

Tell your boyfriend to back off.

DNA tests are now the more common form of paternity testing, but there are other types of tests that your local court may order. DNA can be collected in a variety of ways, but the most common is a cheek swab.

Obviously, you can't take a swab from inside the baby's cheek until after its is born. And, as noted, any other way to collect DNA from a fetus is too dangerous.

Also as noted you don't need a test. But if you go after the father for support (as you should) and he questions paternity, then the court will order a test done.

You have to wait till the child is born to do the DNA test, there is nothing any doctor will do right now. So just wait till the birth
