    Washer drain
If anyone can help me with this one it will be most appreciated. I am installing a washer in a basement that at one time drained into a hole where there is now a sump-pump. It is now against the code to drain it there. I would like to tie it into the sewer line but the sewer line is 8 inches over my head. Is it possible to drain that high and, would the trap have to be altered from it's standard U shape?
Thank you thank you thank you!

A "Gray Water" pump might just be what you need. Check then out at; Saniflo gray water pumps for a shower, kitchen or laundry room
It's also possible your washer pump's powerful to lift t6he discharge up to a trap, stand pipe and vent cut into your existing sewer line. You will need a Vent on the trap and a check valve in the washer hose. You will also need a permanent connection between the washer hose and the stand pipe. Do you plan on doing this yourself and if so would you like us to walk you through it?
    Regards, Tom

Thanks so much! If I may, exactly what is a stand pipe and a check valve? I was hoping to just put a saddle on the sewer line and give it a slight incline from the trap. I was going to snip the washer 'drain' hose, put a connector on it and it extend it up about 4 feet. Would this work? Thanks again so much for your time and knowledge, it is always a blessing to learn from another.

Most sump pumps will not handle a washing machine. Zoellner has one that does. It is about $ 400.00. [i know you said they are illegal]
Tom, they want to rig something because the exiting sewer is too high, and they are told a sump pump is not legal.
