Confused??

I am 19 years young! I haven't been on birth control since around August of 2010 but for some reason I can not get pregnant. We've been trying so hard to get pregnant but still nothing at all. I'm not sure what it could be. What do you think it may be? Or what should I do?

Are you even financially fit to have a child? If you're not maybe you should be back on birth control and wait.

If you truly think you can actually have a baby, then there are plenty of reasons you couldn't be getting pregnant. Have a trip to the doctor to find out what it is for certain.

I am not at all officially qualified to tell you why you're not getting pregnant, but there are or course several things which could affect it. First of all, getting pregnant takes time. Women only ovulate once a month so even if you have been trying for several months, that's really not that many "tries." So, keep trying and don't be discouraged. :) Secondly, if you're stressed out about getting pregnant, the hormones from the stress might actually be reducing the chances of becoming pregnant or of sustaining an early pregnancy. Third, are you sure you and your partner are both fertile? You might consider testing if you have been trying for a long time and still not getting pregnant. Otherwise, your best bet is to see the doctor anyway and see if you can't get any answers/help. By the way, while being young will help you to have a genetically healthy baby (the chances of birth defects increasing with mother's age) you are very young and I hope you've thought about this very hard. But regardless, best of luck!!

You're 19 and you've been trying to get pregnant (no birth control) since you were 17 years old and not even an adult?

Hmmmm - you might be financially stable but this doesn't speak to your maturity. But I agree with everything Backpack2389 said -- stress, your physical condition and other factors can relate to fertility. You can talk to a specialist physician and they can do some testing (as well as your partner) to help you identify any physical problems that could be getting in the way of getting pregnant.

LOL I didn't say I've been trying since I was 17 I said I was on birth control meaning maybe that could be a cause

According to studies, oral birth-control doesn't impact future fertility. Talk to your doctor

And if you haven't been trying long... why do you think there's a problem? Your doctor may say that some fertile couples take a year or more to get pregnant.

Ok I was on birth control wayyyy before I lost my virginity. I got off when I was 18 years old. Didn't start trying until I was 19! I reply the way you respond sorry if you don't like it... If you don't like my response then don't comment either! & I wasn't on oral birth control.

First put a check on your attitude. You are quite rude.
Instead of coming here and asking why you're not pregnant and getting pissy with the answers you get, go to the doctor.

Yes and perhaps if you wanted some clear information - your , "I haven't been on birth control since around August of 2010 but for some reason I can not get pregnant. We've been trying so hard to get pregnant but still nothing at all. " is incomplete, misleading information. If started trying at 19 -- (less than a year) Why didn't you say that? You don't say how long you tried or what you used for birth control in your original post.

If you've been trying since you were 19 and you're 19 your doctor may tell you that fertile couples can take a year or more to get pregnant. If you used an IUD in the past, (just guessing because you're too busy being snippy and rude to include actual info) you should mention that to your doc. --- Check with your doc!

There could be many reasons. I could cite a list, but hat would be a waste of time since your OB/Gyn will know the list and know what tests to perform on both you and your partner. Have you discussed this with your OB/Gyn? If not, why not?

I'm going to add something here that you will not like. Maybe, just maybe this is mother nature's way of telling you that you are too immature to be a mother. Because your reactions here do not show a lot of maturity.

It is a rare 19 yr old, that is financially stable enough to become a parent. So that was a valid question. And it is a rare 19 yr old that even understands what it means financially, to have a child. Yet your response to that and other attempts to help you were very rude and immature.
