I guess this will cement my status as an amateur in plumbing. Our bathtub was draining really slowly this morning. I tried a couple of pots of hot water... no luck. Tried Plumbers Helper twice. No luck. Tried to snake it, but the snake would not go through. So I thought I'd try going in from the drain lever. That's when I noticed that the lever was in the up position, thus explaining why the water would not drain. Pushed the lever down and, surprise, the water began to drain out.

Oh well. It was still fun watching the water drain out properly again. Live and learn.

Best of all, my wife watched the whole episode. She enjoyed it greatly.

I bet she never lets you forget it either... probibly be hearing about it at family get-togethers for years.
