Who reported it stolen? Was it stolen from you? Why didn't you return it?

I assume you rented it with your own ID. Which means, the rental agency has probably had a warrant issued for your arrest.

Yes, if it is recovered and in good shape, you will not have to repay them the money for the car

In either case they will try to convict you of theft ( the actual name of charge varies by locaton) But you will go to jail.

So where is the car ?
