Just found out there is a hold on my banking account funds. The hold is for everything I had in my account which is over $3000.00. Can they do that? Can that hold be released. Not sure who put the hold on it but my guess would be a credit card creditor from the past.

The only way you will find out is to ask the bank why there is a hold. It could be something simple like you just deposited a check and they are waiting for the float to clear, make funds available.
