Ask Me Help Desk - What should I do?

So there’s this guy at uni in my class, and he's always staring at me whenever I’m out with my friends. I see him staring at me. Even in class he would try to talk to me at first. I’m not too sure if I seemed dry toward him at first.

A few weeks later, I was told by my teacher to text him the class results, and I could see he was happy to have my number. Since then though he has never called or texted but I’m sure he is interested in me because he still stares at me. I’m not sure if he thinks I shrugged him off, and I feel very bad.

What should I do? I don’t want to seem desperate, and text him. I've texted him once before, and he was really nice, but I don’t want to be the first to text again. What should I do?

Do you still have class with him? If so, maybe try starting a casual conversation and then suggest going out to eat or something later that week. To make it sound not so out of the blue, round up some friends and tell him that some of your friends are going and you don't want to be stuck as the third wheel.

I'm not sure if I have class with him next semester, and I didn't want to text and ask what session he's taking next semester so I don't seem desperate. The thing is, he is extremely confident with others however if he approaches me, or when I ask him a question in class he stutters and gets all worked up. Im not sure if I should ask him to tag along for lunch, since we have only spoken on very few occasions in class since he is extremely shy around me. What would you do?

Usually shy, and inexperienced guys need encouragement or opportunity, so IF you are interested you talk just introduce yourself, and tell him to keep in touch because he has your number, and see what happens.

If you are just curious about what the staring guy wants, go about your business or be bold and ask him why he stares. Either way, its obvious he won't make the first move without a hopeful sign from YOU!!

My guess is that he's thinking the same thing. He doesn't want to seem desperate. That's why starting a casual conversation with him first would be a good idea and then just work it into the lunch topic. It's obvious that he is interested in you if he doesn't act as confident when he's around you. That's a good sign that he's just worried you don't feel the same or he might blow it. So if I were you, I'd just go for it. If the casual conversation doesn't go well, then you can always back out of asking him on the lunch date!
