Is it part of the restrictions from the Probation officer, sex offenders have custody of their kids at time, so unless there is some reason not to, yes they can.

A sex offender does not say what kind and why, Sex offender can range from urination in public, to having had sex with a 17 year old hooker, or being 18 and having sex with your 16 year old girlfriend.

So if there is a reason they are a threat, the PO would have ordered no contact ( court) or the custodial parent will have to go to have child visit modified ( they offender will normally still get supervised visits at least) If the child was the victim then normally no visits are allowed
