Please say exactly where on your arm, when it hurts, how much you can lift your arm above your shoulder level, how long you've had it, and how much relief you get from OTC pain killers (that's what your doctor will want to know, have you tried analgesics).
But the answer is usually the same - pinched nerve - unless it's on the left arm, and then it might also involve your heart. Try moist heat, gently rotating your arm, Tylenol, etc, and then see a doctor or a chiropractor if no relief after several days.

Please, please ask your doctor, or at least call your insurance company's hotline, if you have insurance for help. Your details, could be quite a few things, but only a medical professional could tell you for sure.

Don't play with your health, by asking people on the internet, who don't have medical experience. We don't know your age, your physical condition, what you were doing before these symptoms occurred, your blood pressure, and even if we did, we aren't qualified to tell you. Ask a health professional.

Thanks for your reply - certainly good advice.

While I can't speak for all others, I can say that my inquiry here is to be able to see a broad picture - I'm not relying on random, anonymous advice - only trying to get an idea as to the possible causes, so that I can zero-in on my own assessment of the very conditions you listed.

Again, your caution is well noted! Thanks.

Yet you still haven't elaborated on the condition, making repy difficult and apparently now a waste of time.
