    Herniated disc in neck
Hello, I have a herniated disc in my neck. It hurts most of the time for now, but it seems to be worse when I am driving. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have had one in my lower back before, which went away after about 6 weeks. Thanks, Sb

My best friend's husband had surgery for a herniated disc in his neck exactly 2 weeks ago.

His was worse and worse. He lived with it for about 3 years, decided to have the surgery. So far, so good.

    What has your Doctor suggested?

I have a herniated disc in my back but I'm so uncertain about surgery -

Personaly I would look into Non-surgical Spinal Decompression. It's non-invasive and it is clinicly proven to be effective for chronic neck and lower back pain. It treats a number of symptoms including Herniated discs! Do some research and locate a Chyropractic Physician that provides Non-surgical Spinal Decompression and schedule a consult. I have a friend that had Sciatica for years and finally had treatment via Non-surgical Spinal Decompression and has been pain free ever since. Good Luck ! And I know you won't be dissapointed.

I tried it - it did not work. Not saying it won't but it is not the answer for everyone. All health insurance policies do not cover it.

I have/had 2 herniated discs in my lumbar, l4/l5 & l5/s1. I went through years of chiropractic and decompression and got better for a little while but because of my job (dance instructor) it got worse again. I found something called ozone therapy and it helped tremendously. I only had one disc injected since it was the worse one causing tremendous pain were I couldn't walk, sit, and at times even lay down. It doesn't have any side effects if it doesn't work so it's worth trying. I used a doctor in NJ, Dr.B who treated me very well.
