Is it possible for a condensation line from an Ac unit , that goes into a floor drain, to back up onto the floor? It is a substantial amount of clear water and can't determine where it's coming from. Was snaked 2 weeks ago from the outside line. I ran water into washing machine line and it didn't back up at all. But today, there is water on basement floor again. No laundry was done, one person living in 20 year old home.

I have had a similar problem twice now over the past 3 months or so. I am fairly certain that my problem is an overflowing rain gutter that in one area directs water toward the very location where I am seeing the water in basement. I snaked the underground pipe that is supposed to carry that downspout away from the house and found that the pipe never had an outlet.
Don't know the exact circumstances of your situation but the gutters may be just one more possibility to check.

Thanks for your insight. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with rain. It can be a small amount of clean water with no relationship to water usage or the outside weather. I would think if it was a sewer back up issue it wouldn't go away. There might be water one day.. sweep it away, and then maybe 4 days later a bit more. Ugh. Can't see where it's coming from.
