    John deere runs hot
My John Deere 116h runs hot and then shuts down as if it was out of gas.
I have replaced the coil, but this did not resolve the problem.
    Any ideas anyone?

    Hi,
You need a Briggs fuel pump kit, probably. It fits in the rectangular unit on the front of the carb. It is #393397.
    Peace,

    Hi,
Remove blower housing to see if you have a rat's nest under it. Usually on that engine if a hot running condition is not fuel related, it is ignition related or air related. Either one of those and the blower housing must come off. If something is not blocking the air flow, check the flywheel key for partial shearing. If not that, it only leave the armature, but you may want to shiine a flashlight by the shrouds to make sure that you do not see oil and dirt where the head gaskets are as a compression loss could possibly overwork the engine.
    Peace,
    Clarke
