    3 Days Late 2 negative HPT's
I am NEVER late. I am a "normal" 28 day cycle woman. I ovulated around the beginning of the month so like June 6-10. My last period was May 22, and my period was suppose to arrive on the 19th. No PMS other than cramping. I am having a heightened sense of smell that is driving my husband nuts just like I did with my daughter when I was pregnant the first time. With the first one I was 6 weeks pregnant when I found out because it was a surprise and we weren't trying. With us trying now, I know what to look for and am so confused when I keep reading. My brain is obsessed with knowing. Then I read that sometimes a missed period means that you didn't ovulate that month and your egg never dropped. GAH! The human body! Does anyone have any other ideas?

Only 3 days and already with the tests? I would wait until you are a month late then try again... its possible you took the test too soon to register if you are... or its possible you are late for another unknown reason.

At a month it is accepted HPTs are accurate... the closer to conception the less accurate they are going to be. Meaning you can get false positives or false negatives.

Have you ever tried having a baby? I am just wondering because there are tests out there that say you can take it 4 days before a missed period. AND if you talk to most people who are trying to conceive a missed period is like a fabulous vacation, a missed period and a negative HPT is like finding out you can't go on your vaca because you have to work. So yes, I am ALREADY taking a test! But thanks for the advice.

Believe what you want as far as how soon you can do it or not... also there are just as many people that are panicing because they didn't WANT a kid yet.

If it wasn't too early... you wouldn't be getting test results that are all over the place. THAT is exactly what your was describing.

What's worse... having your hopes dashed from a false positive... or dashed from a false negative by doing it too soon?

Is this coming from experience or are you just pulling your information from hear say? My main reason for using this forum was to maybe get non condescending help from fellow people that are either going through the same thing or have gone through the same thing. If people don't want to get pregnant it is much easier to fix that...

My answer is accurate... and its accurate no matter WHAT you are hoping for... most people want accurate results... not straws to grasp for only to be let down because they weren't willing to wait a little bit to get them.

The only person even remotely trying to be condescending is you, I did or said nothing remotely like that, if I even had that thought... I'd be the first to admit to it... You asked a question.. I answered it.

Do you have any idea the number of people that think they can take a test a few days after the fact ? Any Idea how many will take 7 tests in that first week and wonder why they can't get the result they want? The answer is lots of women. I can't even remember how many I've seen in even the last month just on this site.

It's a normal reaction when you are excited to want to jump the gun... most people would. I'm not immune to it either.

3 days late is not really even considered late, and too early to test. Each women can differ somewhat, some will not show positive till 3 or 4 weeks "late" many will at about one week late.

Figure late as when the date you period should end. ** not start ** and then wait one week to test.

At three days late a few women may show positive but most won't
