    Let me be sure I got this straight. The chain is the one and only way to turn the fan ON/OFF. There is no other switch so power is reaching the fan control 24/7. This would be an unusual installation to not have any switch anywhere

    There is wall switch to turn lights on and off and another chain can turn lights on an off, fan is controlled by the pull chain only.
