    Installation of double glazed windows
Hi I am planning on having new windows installed. I have been quoted by the builder that it will cost me $900 per window for installation. Most of my windows are around 0.60m by 1m. What should it cost me ?

Would this be in Rural Canada... Australia... in a High Cost metropolitan area?

You should be getting several bids, 3 at a minimum. Wood, fiberglass, vinyl, foam filled fiber glass all cost different. Exactly which brand and style window did the contractor bid?

I agree with Bob, get at lest 3 bids.

If u are getting a quote on totally new windows, there is a lot of work involved.

Patching the siding on outside, redoing trim on inside and whatever painting to give u a finished product.

Have u looked into replacement windows. Doing this they leave the window frames and replace the sashes with a unit that is made to fit. The siding and inside trim are not effected.
