    Switched from Mirena to OCP
About a week ago I had my Mirena removed due to side effects. It was causing severe menstrual cramps, bloating, and pain during sex. Before the Mirena I took Ortho Tricyclen for about 10 years and never had a problem. But I am now in a different country (where medical standards are sadly not as high as they are in the US) and see a different doctor who has prescribed Dixi35 (cyproterone 2mg - ethinyl estradiol .35mg) I have been taking it for about a week and have horrible nausea, stomach pain and bloating. After reading about several types of OCP's I see that this particular pill is not recommended for long term use as birth control and is usually used to treat acne and hirsutism (neither of which are a concern for me). This hormone dosage seems a bit high compared to what I was used to, and I am wondering if this is an okay pill to be taking or should I ask for something else? If so, what would you recommend, given my contraceptive history?
