    Assault charges
I pressed charges on my x after he attacked me about three weeks ago.since then I've been left in the dark.I found out he turned himself in and bonded out in the same day.he has gone to court twice and in still left with no information.so my question is what actually happens in court and if I have to appear what well I be asked.

You can not "drop" the charges Only the DA can drop he charges, ( or crown if in canada)

At this point he will have had most likely a first appearance to be formally charged and enter a plea, and perhaps a bail hearing to determine about current bail. Or to enter some motion.

But no, they do not keep you informed, you will be notified if you are needed to answer questions in court.

The DA will asking you about the assault, the defense may ask more questions trying to make it sound not that bad.
