    Ground Fault
I wired my garage a year ago. Now all of a sudden I had a ground hot reverse alternating to normal in my outlets and my lights stop working properly. I rewired all the outlets and the it went away until I went to turn on a light. Then it went back to ground hot reversed. I had a buddy come over and he jumped from the neutral to the ground in the sub pannel and it went away. Not sure why that worked. Is that OK to do and is there still a problem somewhare?

Seems jumping the neutral to ground in the subpanel leads me to believe the fault is a loose, defective, or corroded connection in a neutral wire, someplace in or between the main panel and the subpanel. This needs to be found and repaired soon as the jumper cannot remain.
