    HIPPA VIolation if dental receptionist discuss my child's clinical treatment?
    Is it a HIPPA violation if a dental secretary discussing with me my child's visit and cavities detected without the dentist discussing it with me first?

    No, it's not a HIPAA violation as long as the secretary had a need to know about your child's cavities (for example so she could process your payment information and schedule the appropriate amount of time for your child's next visit).
