    Drip line
My line 3/4 pvc with trap made of elbows it keeps backing up . It drains to the outside of the house directly. Do I need it to have trap or can I cut out trap and run direct line with a pitch?

Trap should stay in line. Once the trap is cleaned PROPERLY it should not clog up for quite some time. Many installers or service people install a TEE opening with a cap in the 3/4 line to make it easier to clean out. If you do not have a clean out then consider putting one in or have it done by your HVAC company.
