Hi I am 17 years old female and I am 5 ft 1 in and 156 lbs. I had this issue for the longest time and not one doctor can tell me what's wrong. I have to use the bathroom after eating and I go usually 8-9 times a day after a meal. I been to Stomach dr after stomach dr but no answers they said I'm fine and nothing to worry about but Im angry because I can't go out with my family and enjoy myself cause I have to be near a toilet at all times. Now it gotten to the point were now I have severe nausea and moderate stomach pain if I don't eat and when I do after hours later I am going to my 3rd stomach dr July 6th but do you guys have Any advice before then please?

Tell me a little bit about your life, your family, school, sports, friends, and your feelings about things. What kind of a personality do you have? Are you shy or a party girl? Do you stress out over things or breeze through situations such as exams or blind dates?

As long as you are typing, throw in a bit about your food intake. Do you eat three meals a day? Snack a lot? Are there foods that sit fine inside you, but others don't?

I love my family very much we bond and do things together when we can me and mom work. School is been awsome well middle and high school anyway elementary school I was bullied pushed into concrete walls and bookshelfs but nothing major but main thing was I would have constant peeing since you weren't suppose to go during class which they put me on pedia sure, and gave me a pass to go when ever I can. I can't play sports because on my bleeding disorder Von Williebrands disease. I have small group of close friends since we are all special needs and I am very shy. I am an easy going person I take my time on tests and exams I am not dating yet until I'm older. I have a sleeping disorder narcolepsy with cataplexy. I had open heart surgery when I was a baby everything working perfect. I had hernia surgery at 5 years old and been fine since... Now it the scoliosis, sleeping and blood disorders, cluster headache, constant infections, almost a pre diabetic and this unknown stomach issue.

Thanks for the added information. So if I understand this correctly, you have (medically diagnosed) or have experienced:
    1. constant peeing (still a problem?)
    2. Von Williebrands disease (who else in the family has this?)
    3. a sleeping disorder narcolepsy with cataplexy
    4. open heart surgery when you were a baby
    5. had hernia surgery at 5 years old
    6. scoliosis
    7. ooops, repeat of #3
    8. blood disorder (#2 above?)
    9. cluster headaches
    10. Constant infections
    11. Pre diabetic
    12. This unknown stomachache issue

Are you taking any prescription meds now?

Do your doctors know all of the above when you go for appointments?

Constant peeing yes, everyone in family has a blood disorder but I'm only one with Von Williebrands, yup you got everything. And I'm on depo provera shot every 8 weeks, yes every dr knows when I go for any appointment.

Have any doctors asked about your emotional life and how that might affect your intestines/digestive system? For instance, my husband is very even tempered with no highs or lows in emotion, so when something rattles him, even just a bit, he heads for the bathroom.

Also, have allergies to certain foods been explored, such as an allergy to gluten or milk products?

Nope the doctors I visited didn't really care after they found nothing really wrong. This new dr will do allergies and maybe new colonoscopy to see and rule out all that. But would stress make you go 8-9 times everyday when you just ate 5-10 minutes ago? It's just after I eat I'll be in the bathroom for about 15-20 minutes at a time by the 3rd time I'm in pain and shaking because of the pain and by then it's also watery.

Well, it works that way for my husband. It is certainly worth exploring in your case. You definitely have your plate full of other medical problems and challenges, so stress and emotional upsets are worth talking about with a professional. It might even be just a learned behavior for your body. I'll continue to think about this, and I hope others will chime in with ideas to consider.

Have you ever been prescribed an anti-anxiety medication? If so, how did it work for you?
  • Jun 18, 2012, 10:28 AM
    Gummiebear
Nope they never considered me to have anxiety

Anxiety (usually resulting from some kind of stress/emotional complication) lies on a very broad spectrum and causes all sorts of physical reactions in people. Yesterday I had an unusual argument with my usually placid husband, and then we took turns in the bathroom.

Let us know how that appointment goes. Meanwhile, I will keep tabs on this thread for new ideas coming in. When you have nothing to do, please list a day's worth of foods that you ate. And maybe keep a log of foods eaten/drinks consumed along with amounts and then subsequent bathroom visits (dates, times) from now until the appointment, so the doctor knows how serious this is.
