Is a wife obliged to obey her husband in non wajibat issues like ironing and washing for him

Assalamu Alaikum

Yes indeed, a wife is to submit to her husband. If he needs or asks of you to iron or wash his clothing, then please, do so!

The Quran tells us that yes, a wife is to submit to her husband.

BUT Allah also tells us, that a husband is not to treat his wife badly, but he should treat her in a reasonable, decent way, and not in a harmful way. It is haraam to harm another.

“There should be no harming nor reciprocating harm.” (Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 2340)
