I have an old penyan boat that I have been restoring. We sanded the entire boat down to the bare wood. I purchased a light oak finish and when it was applied to the boat the stain came out very dark and the work blotchy. What a disappointment. Can this be corrected or do I need to live with the mistake? Thank you
