If my friend got arrested for having marijuana and then he wants me to say it was mine to the courts could I still be arrested for me saying it was mine?

Why on earth would you agree to do this?

Interesting question, actually. I'm not sure you could be charged with possession, unless your "friend" were to testify that he got it from you. That would be barred by the "corpus delicti" rule.

However they could probaby charge you with something. Perjury or lying to a police officer, if nothing else, asssuming it wasn't yours.
