We have an older Craftsman DYT 4000. It ran fine yesterday, but ran out of gas. I filled it with gas today, but it won't run. The engine will turn over but not actually fire. I took the fuel filter off and checked it out. I put it back on and no fuel has made it back into the filter. I think that the fuel is not getting to where it needs to go. (Sorry, girl language) :/ Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Often what happens when a mower is run out of fuel is that the trash that has been in the bottom of the tank gets sucked into places it is not wanted right as the last of the fuel is consumed. Probably needs some fuel system cleaning, and a new fuel filter could not hurt.
