Hot water comes out of all cold water taps after plumber put in new water diverter
I am having my bathroom remodel. The plumber has put in a new hardware for a single handle faucet for the shower/tub and now only hot water comes out of all taps in house. What would be causing this? Never have had this problem until today after plumber left.

Call them back. If necessary, stop payment until they come back. A good plumber would have checked the system before leaving.

    Hi Cindy

    Very simple issue here...

During a remodel, a mixing valve (diverter valve) may not have the internal parts installed during the rough in phase. This would allow the hot and cold water to mix together and would cause the issue you mention with water to your home. Later during the finish phase of the bathroom remodel all parts get installed.

In this case, I am sure that the plumber forgot to install the plugs in the valve or something simple like that.

Call him back and I'm sure he can pop over and install the plugs or the finish parts to stop the issue easily, OK?

    Good luck!
