Well water system does not work - no water
I have well water with softener system. Everything was working fine last night. This morning, I have no water in the house. Noneof the faucets have water and there is a tiny bit of air that spits out of the faucets. Checked the pressure valve on one of the filters before water gets into the house and there is no pressure (ie I can push the red pressure button before I change filters). What could be the problem? Thanks

    1. What does the pressure gauge read near the pressure tank?
    2. Have you checked the breaker?
    3. If the breaker is on, then check the contact points in the switch. That is a little grey box with electrical wires coming out of it. Remove the grey cover and eyeball the points. They should be closed (touching).
    4. If the softener has a bypass, then open the bypass valve and see if you can get water then.

Thanks. Pressure on 'top' of pressure tank reads 28 psi. Pressure gauge at bottom Which feeds water to house reads near zero. Water drain at bottom of pressre tank (next to gauge that reads near zero) has water in it and flows.

    Breaker works fine it seems.

How about the points. Are they closed? If they are, then the pump should be running.

When you open the drain at the bottom of the tank, does water seem to come out under a lot of pressure, or just simply drain out?

Is your pump in the well or above ground?
