She is pregnant with our child but wants her ex-husband back??
    Good day,

My girlfriend was divorced for just under 6 months after a very emotional and abusive 2 year marriage. They had a daughter together.

We started seeing each other and after a few dates she fell pregnant. Things were going very well because we were working on our relationship including mine with her daughter's.
Then one day her ex-husband says he still loves her and wants her back, everything went pear shaped after that. She admitted that she still had feelings for him and that it was the only man she had ever loved. She is know in her 3rd trimester and has said that I will always be a part of our daughter's life but I can't imagine life without her, her daughter and our daughter on the way.

She won't tell me anymore what she is doing during the day or how she is, but I do know she visits her ex-husband frequently.

Do I take the step back and continue been heart broken or what?

    Thank you

What choice do you really have. You jumped into bed with her way to fast, and into a relationship with someone that just broke up way faster. This is called "rebound" and from a relationship like you described, it is almost foreseen. Way too often women from an abusive relationship are adicted to it, they are calling the police on them one day, but spending the rent money to get them out of jail a week latter. They soon learn to accept the abuse, and even think they are they reason for it. Or worst, that unless it happens, the person does not really love them.

So you can suggest counseling, but just like a drug, unless she wants to get away from him, she will not.

I think you should think about a paternity test as well and make sure this child is yours!
