I am just getting to know a new dr. She prescribed 1 azitromicina 500 mg/day for 5 days for minor respiratory infection. However, everything I read says to take it for 3 days at a total of 1,500 mg. Is it safe to take for 5 days at a total of 2,500 mg?

The dosage you have been prescribed is appropriate. It can be taken as long as 5 days.

Thank you. Everything I read said only 1500mg and was a bit leary of taking more since I do not yet know my new dr well. It is good to hear it from at least one other source!
