What is considered activity for statute of limitations on debt in ontario
My husband has a credit card with a large amount owing from 2007. It was a credit card issued to our business that has been inactive and broke since then. He has not made a single payment on it since the business ceased but has paid the annual credit card fee. Now that he has not paid the fee they have started calling. I am hoping that the statute of limitations is up as it has been more than 2 years but am concerned that paying the fee may be considered activity? Could you advise? If he doesn't pay fee and cancels the card is that considered activity? We have never considered it our debt in the first place but rather that of the incorporated business so not personally ours.
