What should I ask for in my car accident settlement?
I was in an accident on 2/5/2007. I was rear ended in my 2000 beetle while on an off-ramp on the freeway. At the time, I was not taken to the hospital, but I have since seen my doctor for back and neck pain. My doctor says that she cannot refer me to a chiropractor or physical therapist since these referrals require x-rays which I cannot have since I am in my first trimester of pregnancy. I am also unable to take pain medication which further increases my suffering. Also, the accident occurred 3 days before my wedding! Needless to say, I was not in the best shape for my wedding night. I found out today that my car is totalled. I still owe about $9500.00 on the car to my finance company. I am supposed to meet with an insurance adjustor on 3/1/2007 to discuss a settlement for pain and suffering. I am going to need to buy a new car and pay off my totalled one. What is a resonable amount to ask for? Please help!!

First you of course don't need a refferal to go to a chiropractor normally since almost no doctor will ever refer you to them, they place them about to the level of a witch doctor. And honestly even referrals to a PT can be done if they believe a PT can help.

And sorry but the value of the car is the value of the car,not what you owe on it, so you need to find out that figure.

How much is the doctors visit at ths point and time, what is the doctor saying, if you don't want to settle yet, say that, you need to wait till the baby is born, no law you have to settle until you are ready.

If not go high for now,
