    One hour Lunch deduction
Is it legal for a company to deduct an hour from your paycheck if you fail to clock in or out at lunch? My employer said that if we fail to clock in after we take our half hour of lunch an hour will be deducted from our paycheck each time this happens.I work in a busy medical clinic and when I get back from lunch sometimes I have to jump right in and help patients and forget to clock back in.I live in Minnesota.

They can of course just issue written warnings and fire you if you fail to clock out.

If you fail to clock back in, they just don't have to pay you for those hours worked, at least on the next paycheck. And can again issue warning for not following proper rules.

So this threat is not legal, they can not take away time as a punishment, but they can just fire you if you don't follow rules. So slow down when you leave and come back
