I have physhical custody but my x and I have joint legal custody with our four month old daughter. My question is who is responsible in making doctor appiontments. Prior to the court order, our daughters doctors office called me to reschedule her appointment. I emailed my x a day after to inform him of the change. Well, a month later, he textes me a day before her doctor appiontment to tell me he has changed the time because he has class. Does he have that right to do that without consulting me?

You said he texted you how soon before the text did he change the appt? If it was weeks before, you have a complaint, but if it was only a day before, then he is informing you in a reasonable amount of time. Of course you both should consult BEFORE making the change.

Your ex had a class that conflicted with the previously scheduled appointment? Why would that matter? You said that you have physical custody. So what does the time of your ex's class have to do with scheduling your daughter's appointment?

At any rate, I don't think the timing of doctor appointments is governed by which parent or parents have legal custody. It's not a health care decision as much as it is a scheduling detail.

Her appointment was on calendar a month prior to her seeing the dr. My x knew that. However, a day before her appointment, he texts me that evening to tell me he changed the time because he has class and wants to attend her appointment. So he took it abond himself to change the time without consulting me if I had booked appointments on the same time he choose. So I explained to him about how I couldn't go on the time he changed to went on the original time the dr. Office scheduled. Now he telling me he will be making appointments and says he has rights to call and change and make appointments because he has joint custody. My question is. Do I have the place to be the only one calling to make appointments and informing him in a timely matter when the appt is?? Our baby lives with me and he only has vistation. Now, the Office will only accept one parent to call for appointments and here is were we argue about who

If your custody order doesn't specify who has control here, then tell him as the custodial parent, you will be making these appointments. If he doesn't like that, then go back to court and see if the court will agree with you.
