My three year old son has been potty training and today he has been touching himself complaining that his penis hurt! I have already spoken to the doctor about his penis and discovered that at birth they may not have cut as much foreskin as needed. I too was told by the doctor to pull the skin back but my son says that it hurts him and hadn't been complaining about any pain in that area at all until today! When looking in that area I see that the tip is red and I am unable to get to the doctors today. What can I possiblly do to help relieve the pain until getting him to the doctor to be fully checked out?

The foreskin still attached would be difficult to pull back because too dry. You may need to use some lubricant in order to facilitate this. It could be something simple as baby oil, just something to lubricate the area until you can get him to the doctor.

I understand this problem because in later years this becomes a problem to retract it for cleaning in the elderly men if not circumsized.

Has the doctor said anything about surgery to correct the circumcision? I don't know if I would pull it back if it hurts so bad. Maybe get a second opinion from another doctor?
