I own a craftsman chainsaw w/3.3hp and 20inch bar. I have owned this saw for 20 years and I am looking to replace it.. I am looking to replace it with a like size saw but I want to purchase the best saw for my buck... I am looking at Craftsman, Stilh, Husqvarna, and Shindaiwa. All comments are appreciated..

All of the models listed are good with the exception of the craftsman, in the past chainsaws were built pretty rugged, today's have a lot of high impact plastics and non-servicable components. The most important thing for your decision is dealership, if you have a stihl dealer next door buy a stihl if the place you are comfortable with is strong in a particular brand they are likley to have a good network of product support.

The models listed are all pretty equal, the sears tends to be a bit lesser expensive and aimed at the casual user. If that is what you are looking for it will work the other models are pro use as well as residential.
