I want to run wire underground over 2000ft. What size do I need?
I do not like solar panels and one day may put lights along the driveway
Ok, so now we know it is a 2000' run,. and it is for a gate,. and now you "may" want lights.
I guess we'll have to keep asking for more info in each post.
Wattage or amperage?
Voltage?
Make?
Model?
I'll say it again, 2000' is WAY too far for most practical electrical installations.
Why not just ask the gate installers for this info and give it to your electrician? Or are you trying to "save money" by doing some of it yourself?
You have not provided much detail, however, as Stan mentions, 2000 feet is much too far to deliver either 120 volts or even 240 volts.
You need to call in an electrician that can determine what you need for voltage, what the acutal load is, and he can design a system using transformers that can handle this long distance.
This is not a DIY project.
Thanks for the info. I see that this project is not going to be a little one. Will call in the experts.
