    Child abandonment laws in Arkansas
In Arkansas is there a time frame on "abandonment" such as No contact... If so, is it grounds to have a parents rights taken away?

I see nothing in the law in Arkansas concerning filure to support/have contact and abandonment.

Abandoment is basically putting the child at risk, unattended - http://www.ndaa.org/pdf/ncpca_statut...nment_3_07.pdf

No not paying support or not visiting is not a reason to take rights away, In fact seldom will a court ever take rights away except for adoption by a step parent.

The reasoning, if they have no contact they are not using their rights, not visiting, so why take something away that is not being used. They also feel that the other parent owes the money.and it is for the child's benefit, so more should be done to attempt to collect
