    Murray model 502
I just bought a sears re2000 ride n mulch riding mower. I have been told that this mower was made by murray. The model number is 502-255030 13641322. The mower would not move on its own power. I figured it was probably a belt slipping because it would jump a little bit forward. I started digging into it and found out that the main pulley above the transaxle was oblonged. The woodruff key was just about destroyed. I have a new pulley ordered through a local parts distributor. My problem is that I would like to change this main drive belt but can not figure how to get it off. I have the transaxle out but the belt is around the other pulley and can not see how it would come off. Would you have any schematic or a diagram or instructions on how to get this belt off. I could always cut it but that would not help me in getting the new one back on. Your help is appreciated.
    Thanks much,
    Papa Woody

    Hi,
You may well need to remove the bolt from the double sheave on the engine and let it drop down a bit to do that. Picture attached.
    Peace,
