I am having symptons of being pregnant and my period is light. I will bleed for 30mins and it will stop for a couple hours. It's not heavy bleeding and I am usually a very heavy bleeder. I've took test and they have said negative but when I was pregnant with my 5yr old I got negative results with her too because my hCG wasn't producing enough. Is there any other way to find out for sure?

The best way to find out for sure is to go to the doctor for a blood test. A lot of pregnancy centers and free clinics will help you with this if you are uninsured. You are correct--home pregnancy tests are not perfect and often produce false results. There are a number of reasons for which you may be bleeding irregularly:
1. You may be having a "normal" period that is lighter this time due to stress, illness, change in diet, or other environmental factors that alter menstruation.
2. You may have an underlying health issue. Have you recently had a gynecological exam? Were your results normal? Have you been experiencing any pain during this bleeding? Do you notice any abnormal swelling or strange smells?
3. You could be pregnant. It isn't atypical for women to experience spotting early in their pregnancy. If you have reason to suspect you may be pregnant, I urge you to see your doctor so that you can get the care you and your baby need.
4. Have you changed jobs, moved somewhere new, lost weight, or started a new exercise/diet plan? These scenarios are notorious for changing a woman's experience of her period.
